What started out as a family passion has, over the years, turned into a full fledged, "let's get out there and win", ATV motocross team. Heath MX Racing, based out of Southern Indiana, collected it's first national MX championship in 2006 when Corey Heath took the WPSA 50cc Junior title. Since then it's been a rise to the top for the Heath family and the Heath MX Racing's team members.

Just a few thoughts on Loretta's.  It was again a fun and exciting week!  Lots of sun, a little rain, and plenty of action and laughter.  Racing was outstanding and the turn out was of record numbers.  There were many classes that had qualifiers and the days were long and exhausting.  The kids had a great time in the creek as always, catching fish, tubing, riding (and crashing) on bikes, Youth Contingency, late nights, lots of food, etc, etc.  Thanks to everyone!

WE WILL MISS YOU, DONNIE!!
Round 4 ITP/Moose Racing ATVA MX National at Sunset Ridge in Walnut, IL.
The weekend began with rigs being pulled into the pits!  Everyone was hoping that it wouldn't end up similar to a few years ago with waking up to lakes surrounding everyone and being pulled back out due to rain.  The rain held off, the track dried up nicely, and racing began!  Chill was in the air, but that didn't stop anyone . . .  Results have been better, but everyone gave valiant efforts.  A few mechanical issues and more wrecks drifted upon some of the riders.  Others rode their hearts out and brought home those top 10 finishes!

Round 2 ITP/Moose Racing ATVA MX National at Ballance Moto X in Bowling Green, KY.  It was a perfect weekend for racing.  It was a bit windy, but the sun was shining most of the weekend.  There was a little rain, but nothing the track couldn't absorb.  A few Team Members improved where they finished compared to Pell City, and a few had mechanical issues and wrecks that placed them further back in the pack.  Everyone gave a valiant effort, pit crews were wrenching most of the weekend, and it seemed as though everyone had a great time!  Which is why we are all there -- TO HAVE A GREAT TIME and enjoy everyone's company ! ! !  Heath Racing

News update:03/26/10 - 03/28/10
Wow!  What a way to start out the National ATVA Quad Season!  Rain, Mud, Sloppy Pits, but the track was just right!  Everyone was pulled in to the track by dozers early Thursday.  By late Thursday, many were able to drive in, but things were still very muddy!  Bales of straw were the hot commodity!  The track drained well and practice
on Friday went great for most.  Racing on Saturday and Sunday were even better until the rain starting coming in again early afternoon!  Heath Racing had several riders in Alabama having a lot of fun for the first race of the season!  Below are results:
+ Pro-Am Production:  Ryan Beaven put up a valiant fight, but came up a little short.
+ Open B:  Kyle Schonert 20th
+ 90 Auto Sr (12-15 yr): Aidan Blades 7th
+ 90 Auto Jr (8-11): Corey Heath 1st; Abby Bowyer 7th
+ 70 SS (6-11):  Corey Heath 1st; Nolan Cochran 3rd; Emily Bowyer 14th
+ 50 Sr (6-8): Eli Hopkins 5th; Nolan Cochran 6th; Emily Bowyer 8th; Graham Hamilton 9th; Jenna Heath 12th

We appreciate everyone traveling to Alabama and putting on a great show!  We look forward to seeing everyone in Bowling Green for Round 2.  Keep up the great work and be sure to continue to report back to us on other events so we can keep things posted for everyone to see!  Thanks!

Spurgeon Handles the Hill

"Daniel Spurgeon (91, above) suited up for battle with the cold and his fellow 50cc (7-8) racers. The frigid temperatures didn't seemed to bother Spurgeon, or his fellow racers. As they took off, each one had high hopes of ending Spurgeon's four-race winning streak and his apparent lock on first place in the series points chase."

ATVA National Motocross Banquet

The year-end ATVA National Motocross Banquet was held in Pigeon Forge, TN, on Saturday, November 14th.  The weekend was nice for everyone to see one another again and have a relaxing weekend without getting dirty/greasy and turning wrenches!

Several of the mini-quad families stayed at the Wilderness at the Smokies resort which includes a wonderful indoor water park.  Wow!  The kids had such a fun time.  And for those of you who weren’t able to stay there, you missed John trying to surf on the Surf Rider!  Sooo funny!  But he gave it his best effort!

As for the banquet, it was quite lengthy, but very nice overall.  Over 450 riders and their guests gathered for the event at the Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Center.  So many awards were given out as well as contingency items.  The food was good and the company with friends even better!

Check out all of the banquet photos >>

It was good to see everyone who was able to travel to Pigeon Forge and we look forward to seeing everyone again in a few months in Pell City , Alabama .  Keep in touch!

Toni Heath

The ITP/Moose Racing ATVA National Series is over.  So much time, work, sweat, travel, and money went into making each and every race.  So many families traveled all over the United States every few weekends!  Many new friends have been made, but now the season is over :(  Heath Racing brought home several podium wins throughout the season and we are so proud of each and every rider!  It was amazing to watch how each one improved each and every race.  Way to go riders!  And to all of those parents, we also thank you!  Without your support, the riders wouldn't be competing!  Series results are below:

4-stroke C:  Kyle - 2nd place
Production C:  Kyle - 7th place
70 Mod:  Ethan Putty - 7th place
70SS:  Corey Heath - 2nd place; Nolan Cochran - 9th place; Ethan Putty - 13th place

50 Sr:  Corey Heath 1st place; Ethan Putty - 3rd place; Nolan Cochran - 4th place; Jenna Heath 16th place

We want to thank everyone for all of the fun that we had!  It is the family environment that makes racing worthwhile!  Late nights working, wrenching, chatting, playing jokes, and sitting around relaxing a bit makes for a lot of fun!  We tried our best to supply those parts that everyone needed and we know there were times we didn't have everything.  We are always open to suggestions of other items we need to keep on hand -- so just let us know.  We will be attending several local and regional races coming up and look forward to working with everyone in the 2010 season!  Thanks for everything!

Wow!  What an end to the season for the ATVA National Motocross Series!  Loretta Lynn Dirt Days brought some enthusiasm to all!  So much fun spread throughout the pits each day and night!  The week began with some rain, but everything dried up nicely and made for a wonderful weekend.  Swimming in the creek, jumping from the cliffs, fishing, tubing, a dip in the pool from time to time, golf cart parades, ice cream/snow cones, cook-outs, and most of all RACING . . .  Results were spectacular for Heath Racing!

4-Stroke C:  Kyle Schonert made it to the top at Loretta's!  Kyle got his first National win at the most prestigious quad race of the National season!  Kyle went 1-1 for the weekend for an overall Loretta's 1st place.  Way to go!  Kyle has been fun to watch all season and has made great improvements from the first race at Pell City, AL.
Production C:  Kyle Schonert - 18th overall

13 July 09 A few Heath Racing quad riders reported in their results from the July 11 and 12th Posey Co. MX race.  Wow!  What a great job guys!  Cale Colbert brought home 2 wins in the 51 - 100 class on Saturday and Sunday.  James Heath did well in the Mini Quad class and placed 3rd.  Keep bringing those podium wins!  Great job!

18 June 09 Racing is in full swing now.  Bike qualifiers are going on all over.  Quad motocross Nationals are in the middle of the series.  Local races are occurring every weekend.  Send those results in so we can post how well all of you riders are doing!  Round 6 of the ATVA National Motocross Championship took place on June 12-14 in New Berlin, NY, at Unadilla Motorsports Raceway.  Only a few Team Heath Racing riders were able to travel up North for the competition.  The weekend went well.  There was pelting rains on Saturday afternoon which delayed the schedule for Sunday and changed the track a bit, but overall the weekend went well.  The results are below:

50 Sr Class:  Corey Heath 2nd place; Jenna Heath 9th place
70SS Class:  Corey Heath 3rd place

We also wanted to note that Graham Hamilton reported a 1st place finish at the Sturgis, KY, track recently in the mini-quad class!  He was up against some stiff competition, was aboard his Cobra ECX50, and let them eat the dust that flew behind him to come up with the win!  Keep bringing home those podium finishes, Graham!  Way to go!

27 May 09 Several Team Heath Racing riders traveled to Delmont, Pennsylvania, this past weekend for Round 5 of the ATVA National Motocross Championship at Steel City MX Raceway.  Wow!  The weekend started out with a "bang" for the Heath Racing Rig when the drive shaft and rear end dropped out of the truck on Thursday evening on the way to Pennsylvania.  Many phone calls were made a Budget box truck came to the rescue Friday morning!  Back on the road to Pennsylvania and 7 hours later, the Heath Racing "Budget truck" arrived at Steel City.  What a trip!  Practice was over on Friday so three of the Heath Racing riders didn't get their quads on the track until Saturday morning.  The weather was great all weekend and racing went well.  Nolan had some motor problems in the 70 class so wrenches were turning between Saturday and Sunday's moto.  He pulled out a 12th place overall.  Sunday's motos finished up before the rain arrived.  Three protests occurred in the 50 Sr class (two of which were Heath Racing riders) and everyone turned out legal.  Overall Results are below:

50 Sr class:  Corey Heath 1st, Ethan Putty 2nd, Nolan Cochran 6th, Jenna Heath 15th
70SS class:  Corey Heath 3rd, Nolan Cochran 12th
70 Modified:  Ethan Putty 5th
4-Stroke C:  Kyle Schonert 6th
Production C:  Kyle Schonert 8th

The next few weeks will be used to make repairs, race some local tracks, and get ready for Unadilla in New York.  Keep up the good work and keep us updated on other results!

Thanks
Toni Heath

11 May 09 Penny Fuhrman took some great pictures at Round 4 Check them out ...

6 May 09 Round 4 of the ITP/Moose Racing ATVA Quad National took place in Walnut, IL, at Sunset Ridge on May 1st - May 3rd.  The tractors and dozers got a work out before the racing even began.  It had rained for days before everyone started pulling into the pits which made it impossible to maneuver around anywhere.  Everyone (trailer by trailer) was pulled in Thursday and most of Friday by tractors/dozers.  Luckily, the Heath Racing rig was pulled to the peak of a hill surrounded by some grass!  Woohoo!  Friday's practice was delayed an hour to allow the wind to dry things up a bit.  The rest of the weekend was fairly smooth sailing and everyone had a great time.  The competition was ready for action, the Team made some changes throughout the weekend, and overall did well!  The results are below:

0-50 Sr:  Corey Heath 1st place, Ethan Putty 3rd place, Nolan Cochran 4th place, Jenna Heath (out having a good time:) took 18th place.
0-70SS:  Ethan Putty 3rd place, Corey Heath 4th place, Aidan Blades 8th place, Nolan Cochran 14th place
4-Stroke C:  Kyle Schonert 5th place
Production C:  Kyle Schonert 4th place

Pennsylvania is coming up in a few weeks.  We look forward to seeing everyone there and will catch up with some of our local riders in the next few weeks at regional tracks.  Keep up the good work!
2 May 09 Trajan Metcalf raced on May 02 @ Middlecreek MX in Carthage, IL and placed 1st in the 4 wheel mini 8-15 age group.  Way to Go Trajan!
29 Apr 09 Some of the Team Heath Racing riders traveled to Crofton, KY, this past weekend (4/25) to race at 800MX.  The weather was outstanding and racing action was even better!  The track had changed a bit since the last time some of the riders were there which wasn't as welcome, but hopefully the track owner will make some additions before the next round of the series.  Results are below:

0-50cc Quad:  Ethan Hamilton 2nd place, Jenna Heath 4th place, Graham Hamilton 6th place
0-70cc Quad:  Aidan Blades 1st place
0-90cc Auto (8-11):  Corey Heath 1st place

22 Apr 09 Round 3 of the ITP/Moose Racing ATVA Quad National took place in Danville, VA, at Birch Creek Motorsports on April 17th - 19th.  The weather was wonderful and everyone had a great time.  There were some mechanical issues throughout the weekend along with a few crashes, but overall Team Heath Racing did well.  The results are below:

0-50 Sr:  Corey Heath 2nd place, Nolan Cochran 3rd place, Ethan Putty 5th place, James Heath 15th place, Jenna Heath 20th place.

It was a very busy weekend for everyone.  Quads were in and out of the Heath Racing trailer all day and night.  The trailer finally closed around 5:45 a.m. Sunday morning which allowed for a few hours of sleep before getting back up for Sunday's motos.  The kids all had fun playing in the creek to cool off after the warm weather on Friday and Saturday.  Everyone is looking forward to the Walnut, IL, race in a few weeks!

8 Apr 09 Wow!  What a weekend!  Round 2 of the ITP/Moose Racing ATVA Quad National took place in Bowling Green, KY, at Ballance MotoX.  The trip began with a large amount of rain for many, practice was delayed on Friday due to the muddy mess on the track, and the pits were impossible to maneuver through!  However, the wind picked up and the sun shined through to make for great racing weather on Sunday!  The Heath Racing Team stepped up their game and placed in the top 10 in multiple classes, took the podium several times, and made a clean sweep in the 50 Sr class!  Way to go!  The results are below:
